Hi everyone,
Join us on July 28, 2023 for an engaging discussion of an excellent book: The Song of The Cell: An exploration of Medicine and the New Human by Dr Siddhartha Mukherjee.
Dr. Mukherjee is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, and his previous books, "Gene" and "The Maladies of Cancer," were New York Times bestsellers. He is a physician and cancer researcher who recently founded a company focused on designing novel approaches to treat cancer. Additionally, he is a great storyteller. In his current book, "The Song of the Cell," Mukherjee tells the story of how scientists discovered cells, began to understand them, and are now using that knowledge to create new humans. He seduces readers with writing that is vivid, lucid, and suspenseful, making complex science thrilling. The book is told in six parts and is laced with Mukherjee's own experiences as a researcher, doctor, and prolific reader. "The Song of the Cell" is both panoramic and intimate, a masterpiece.
